ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Solar Power Station Installation

Tucson Electric Power

Southwest Energy provided turnkey services for the installation, commissioning and maintenance of a 4.6 megawatt grid-tied solar power station in Springerville, Ariz., in partnership with Global Solar. With 34 arrays covering 44 acres, the solar power station was once one of the largest in the world at the time of its completion. The power station was installed in 125 kW nominal building blocks with a dozen 150 kw inverters engineered to UL and IEEE standards. Each inverter’s 480V, three-phase nominal AC output is supplied to step-up transformers for connection to a 34.5 kV grid distribution line.
