Must pass a computer meter reading proficiency test.
They get 2 hours a day of training for four days to prepare for the final test.
The final test is given on the 5th day.
They must read 200 meters or more with a 99% proficiency or higher in 2 hours to be considered for an interview.
Prospective new hires must pass a drug test before being hired.
>Orientation training:
Training session is one day for an 8 hour period.
Must pass the end of the day a final examination with a score of 88% or higher to begin field training.
The orientation training provides them the overview of the meter reading industry, rules, procedures and relationships we have with other companies that we provide meter-reading services.
>Two week field training period: The Meter Reading Trainee spends two weeks of intense training with the Training Foreman and an experienced Meter Reader. The Trainee is assigned a processor and the same route as the Training Foreman or experience Meter Reader. Daily, the Training Foreman downloads the route and then provides feedback on how well they did and how they can improve.
